A view of what Margate looks like this morning. And the rain continues. Joburg runners who are not in Durban will now have the advantage of being able to train. Shes on Fire Eddington looking good now.

We are getting a bit ahead of ourselves, aren't we? The race is two-and-a-half weeks away, although I must say that the rain which fell early this morning over Durban was a downpour like I have not seen for a very long time. In our supposedly "dry" season, no less.

Port Shepstone , Shelley Beach , Margate all heavy rain affected areas.Everyone staying indoors today, no work as bridges blocked . Rescue operations underway as well.

Hope it stops and clears up.

Click on the attachments above to see pics of Margate.

2 weeks will not be enough time for this amount of water to drain away. The track will be soft IMO.

To see more blog.ecr.co.za/newswatch/?p=1888#more-1888

Margate 120 KM from Durbs but wind is blowing away from Durbs so may not get there.. Wind has changed direction a few times this morning though

geez you guys are such dramatists.... they'll probably lose 1 day of work at clairwood and summerveld - if you're gonna start tipping joburg horses, you're getting a bit desperate i think

Most of the flood rain fell on the lower south coast, here on the north coast, heavy rain but not critical yet, hoping the rain will clear up from today, which is looking more likely.
