Lloyd smashes Munce's Brisbane record
By Racing.com www.racing.com/news/2017-04-05/lloyd-sma...nces-brisbane-record
Former South African rider Jeff Lloyd continued to re-write the record books in Queensland on Wednesday when he passed Chris Munce's record of 103 metropolitan winners for the season with nearly four months remaining.
The amazing feat quite fittingly came up on the Sunshine Coast, where Lloyd had experienced other life-changing moments. He suffered a serious stroke at the track in 2013 and last year, rode a Queensland record of seven winners at the venue at the one meeting.
The 55-year-old broke Munce's six-year-old record winners when he booted home Sun Deck to win the second event on Wednesday. He drew level with Munce nearly two weeks ago but has since been serving a suspension.
To underline his dominance, Lloyd has almost doubled the tally of his nearest rival - the former premiership winner Jim Byrne - who has 54 Brisbane winners so far this season.
This season, Lloyd is striking at an incredible 23.6 per cent. The leading Sydney metropolitan rider is Brenton Avdulla, who has 58 wins at 15.3 per cent and in Melbourne, Craig Williams leads on 54 wins at 16.8 per cent.
The highlight of Lloyd's season was his Magic Millions Classic win aboard the flying filly Houtzen.

Just to put it into perspective for the old bullies out there like me.
At 55!!!
To race ride those sorts of schedules, and then through in overcoming a stroke.
Honestly, Legendary stuff. IMO.
