i see an article on SP that they have decided a few weeks before the race to move it a week later.

Absolute insanity.

Cannot imagine trainers being excited about this last minute disruption to their plans.

I think that it has to do with Princess Charlene coming out in person on that day.
I think that the Trainers who would use the race as prep for the big day on 6th May might be put out. Not sure if any would have run on both days though.

By moving the race out to accommodate an esteemed guest/royalty they have set a precedent that it can happen in the future again.

I wonder if one of our prominent South Africans like Ex Presidents, Zulu Kings, etc passes away if a feature race will be postponed....
