BETTING WORLD MEDIA RELEASE
SUBJECT: Betting World Algoa Cup promotions
DATE: 18 October 2016
RELEASED BY: PHUMELELA GAMING
Corporate bookmaking chain Betting World, sponsor of the Betting World Algoa Cup at Fairview on Sunday 30 October, aims to establish a significant footprint in the Eastern Cape.
Betting World arrived in the Eastern Cape in January this year after acquiring a 51% share in Afribet and then Gambling Board approval to trade all stores under the banner of Betting World Eastern Cape (Pty) Ltd.
There are now eight Betting World retail outlets in the province, two of which are set to move to bigger premises in locations with bigger footfalls in the next few weeks. Two new outlets are also set to open their doors soon.
To celebrate its sponsorship of the Algoa Cup, Betting World will be running special promotions at three outlets in Uitenhage and three in Port Elizabeth.
These include losing-ticket competitions in which five winners will be drawn in each of the six outlets this Saturday 22 October and again on Friday 28 October.
Prizes for the 60 winners will comprise Betting World merchandise and R200 betting vouchers, plus one lucky customer in each outlet will win a Sansui tablet PC.
The draw for the tablets will take place on Saturday 29 October, when the 30 winners from the three Uitenhage Betting World outlets must go to the KwaNobuhle branch, which is the main Betting World outlet in the town.
On the same day the 30 winners from the Betting World branches in Port Elizabeth must head to the Newton Park outlet, where the draw for the tablet PCs will take place.
A special Algoa Cup promotion, hosted by commentator Nico Kritsiotis, will be held at the Newton Park branch on the same day.
There will be a losing ticket competition with a grand prize of a Sansui fridge and five tickets to the Algoa Cup the following day. Plus a total of R8,000 free bets will be given away in the Newton Park outlet - 30 x R100 vouchers for that day and 50 x R100 vouchers only valid at the Betting World Algoa Cup race meeting at Fairview the next day.
To stand a chance of winning a prize, Betting World customers in the six branches must write their name and ID and cell phone numbers on the back of losing tickets and deposit the tickets in a special competition box.
The competition started this week and the special competition boxes will be cleared on 22 October and again on 28 October for the lucky draws on those days.
The six Betting World outlets involved in the promotion are:
Uitenhage:
* Spectrum: 8 Bucwa Street, KwaNobuhle
* Crown: 142 Caledon Street
* KwaNobuhle: 37 Shoprite Complex, Matanzima Road
Port Elizabeth:
