Fortune Weight

I noticed in the Scottsville Stipes report(see below) for Saturday that Andrew Fortune was twice (R6 and R10) fined 1K for weighing in 1kg or more OVER what he weighed out at. What's the story there ?

Jockey A Fortune was fined R1000.00 for a contravention of Rule 66.4 in that he returned to scale after having ridden MULE in Race 6 being in excess of 1kg over the weight of 57kgs at which he weighed out at.

Jockey A Fortune was fined R1000.00 for a contravention of Rule 66.4 in that he returned to scale after having ridden SEVEN BROTHERS in Race 10 being 1kg over the weight of 58 kg at which he weighed out at.

He is such a cool rider, he was having a sandwich and coke during the race?

that probably explains the over weight

Dont know whats the fuss...one of my trainers say my horse puts on weight and not loses any after a hard work-out...hehehe. They now call her fatty...

When a jockey ways out for a race say at 57kg the clerk of scales will pass him correct if his an ounce below 57.5kg,so in effect he is really weinging out a half over.He then goes back into the jockeys room and dinks a coke or two another half kg
