Trainers in South Africa
8 years 10 months ago
I have notice that there haven't been runners from 1 or 2 stables recently
Looking at formgrids, a trainer like L Cunha hasnt had a runner since 13/07/2016 which is over a months ago... any idea whats happened?

Luiz Cunha decided not to renew his trainers license as the costs of training are prohibitive and training is no longer cost effective. He wants to keep his 4 or 5 mares and breed a few horses to sell or race with a different trainer in the future. Breeding is his passion.
His focus is his business as well and never really had the time to focus on training. John Nel who ran the stable also felt there wasn't a future in racing and has gone into his own small business as well.
Racing has become more for the bigger players but they still enjoy racing from the sidelines and will continue to own horses in a small way in the future.

Not drugs. Had passports with altered dates for flu vacs. Long story but boiled down to same old. You guilty because they in your possession even if you didn't do it.
