Scandola - this time surely. Hopped on 22/10 offered by WSB on thursday and took more of the evens too.

I hope Scandola wins for u..Plenty variables and unknowns like the heavy going(plenty rain in ct this week)and the many unraced runners like the B Crawford horse who cost R3.7m from highlands. That is the only reason i will not have a bet in the first.I did back Scandola last time wen beaten by the Snaith horse.

Got Illdrinktothat running in the 2nd...he worked like a machine this morning and is very well! First time around the turn and drawn a bit wide but if he has luck in running will be a huge runner! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Nice sunny day, but the going will be heavy after all the rain this week. No wind.
Race 1: Scandola should atone for her failure last time, although lots of unknown first timers. Contessa Fantasia good debut and should challenge. We have 3 runners-
Ginger Rose and Sylvanite on debut. These are both very nice fillies, and would be no surprise if they run into the money. Will both go further, and will come on from this.
Red Berry Candle has had two fair runs, and was ridden too freely last time. Place chance.
Race 2: Edict of Nantes went close last time and is the one to beat. Captain Blackbeard is huge value at 20/1 on his penultimate run. All of Ice Ridge, Illdrinktothat, Logan, Oh Behave and Rinjani could make the frame in an open race.
Ice Ridge's performance will be interesting, as there are a few runners later from the Fire in the Belly form line.
Race 3: Auditorium should win this. Rock on Geordies ran well over 1200m last time and could challenge if this is not too short. If Secret Idea repeats penultimate, has a shout.
We have Mighty Hash running. He is doing well at home, but has 3 lengths to find on the favourite, but should be included in quartets.

I would have thought auditorium would have been scratched today due to family issues, richard fourie has even gotten off his rides, so lets wait and see if it runs or scratched

Race 4: Rocket Master is not the most consistent, but could win if repeating his last run. Pure Logic has a tough task taking on the older horses here, but looks useful, and has a shout. All of Royal Ginger, Braaistin, Marvan, go Marty Go could challenge.
Race 5:Mr Lover Boy looks the best of the older horses, with Londalozi and Archie not far off. All Night Long has good form but tough over this trip for a 2 yo.
Race 6: Victoria Lavelle is the class filly here, and is a possible banker. If she fails, then this is very open. Aliysa's Pride and Acaciawood may be next best.
Race 8:we have the evergreen Blarney Bay running here. He has a good draw, and will relish the soft going. He is doing very well at home. Ashton Park is well in at the weights, and he may catch us over this 1600m. I would be more confident if it were 1400m race, but still expecting a bold showing from BB. It's pretty open outside the top two.
Race 9: Field for the exotics. We have Entre Nous running. She missed her last 2 due to jockey problems. May need this run, and poor draw to overcome.

Victoria Lavelle purely on the merit ratings should stick this field away.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.
