If its a Single Floating Trifecta = Example Single Roving with 5 runners
Formula = 5*4*3 (The amount of runners floated * less 1 of floated runners * 3) = R60
The 3 at the end of the formula is constant as the Trifecta as 3 positions
If its a Single Floating Quartet = Example Single Roving with 5 runners
Formula = 5*4*3*4 (The amount of runners floated * less 1 of floated runners * less 1 from previous less * 4) - R240
The 4 at the end of the formula is constant as the Quartet as 4 positions.

Trifecta is easy.
single floater: number of horses times number of horses(-1) times 3
so 9 horses would be 9 times 8 times 3 = R216
double floater: even easier
number of horses times 6
so 9 horses is 9 times 6 =R54

Double Float Trifecta
Example Double Float Trifecta with 5 runners
Formula = Float runners times * 2 (As you have 2 Floats) * 3 (As Trifecta as 3 positions)
therefore
5*2*3 = R30
Or just take the float runners and always times it by 6 = 5*6 = 30
Apologies, Huchergh as explained. Thanks.

Quartet single floater: easy too
number of horses times NOH(-1) times NOH(-2) times 4
so 9 horses is 9 times 8 times 7 times 4 = R2016
number of horses times NOH(-1) times NOH(-2) times 4
so 9 horses is 9 times 8 times 7 times 4 = R2016

Double Floating Quartet Example with 5 runners
The Amount of Runners floated * less 1 * 12 (Always) =
5*4*12 = R240
