Aidan O'Brien has had five previous winners of the Eclipse, with Giant's Causeway (2000), South African Sire Oratorio (2005) and most recently So You Think (2011) the notables.

His impressive French 2000 Guineas winner Gurkha will be a short priced favourite to make it six on Saturday ( sportingbet have priced up www.sportingbet.co.za/?affiliate=ia_za&p...8231b_34900c_20303d_ )

The Iron horse Giant`s Causeway winning the 2000 race

Very difficult to find winners as form goes out of the window with the shit weather at the moment. This weather is driving me to the edge of a cliff.

R6 Doncaster Yourartisonfire. This is a very weak claimer and the selection would pick these up and carry them if anywhere near his best. Has been disappointing so far this season, but ran much better in a strong race at Carlisle last time. Has run well here in the past and likes a bit of give in the ground. Assuming he hasn't lost the plot completely, he should win this and 7/4 or bigger is a fair price.

R6 Newton Abbot Railway Storm E/W. This isn't as strong as it first appears and plenty of these have question marks over them. The selection was a bit disappointing here last time, but things didn't really go his way (was probably ridden a bit too aggressively early on) and he was plugging on well enough at the finish. Can make the first three here if ridden a bit more patiently and 14/1 is a very nice E/W price with only eight runners.

Railway Storm broke down sadly and had to be pulled up.

R2 Beverley Dubai Knights. Very unlucky not to have won before now and the drop back to a stiff five furlongs looks ideal. Has the well fancied Johnston newcomer Indie Rock to beat, but sets a very decent standard and she will have to useful at least to beat him. 5/2 is a very good price.
