Jockey Bernard Fayd'herbe gets R5000 rand fine

Bernard has been handed down a R5000 rand fine for his ride on Dynamic. I tought there would of been a much harsher punishment but who are we to judge.

Missed the race , what happened?

Well i was on course and this was my version of it, he was on dynamic and he hit the front 200 out..he was about a 2lenghts in front of them with about 30meters to go he put his hands down and completely stop riding allowing solid speed to pass without a fight. Im my opinion had he kept riding to the line he would of won.

At an Inquiry held in Cape Town on 12 May 2016, Jockey Bernard Fayd’Herbe was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.2 in that as the rider of DYNAMIC, he rode the horse in an unprofessional manner in Race 5 at Scottsville Racecourse on 10 April 2016.

Jockey B Fayd’Herbe pleaded guilty to the charge.

The Board was satisfied that DYNAMIC had been passed at the time that Jockey Fayd’Herbe had stopped riding and that he had not prejudiced his chances of obtaining the first position by his actions. The Inquiry Board accepted his plea and found Mr Fayd’Herbe guilty of the charge and after considering the evidence presented in mitigation, imposed a fine of R5 000.

Jockey Fayd’Herbe has the Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed.

Very harsh imo, had wridden his horse strongly until he was passed

what happened when he got chased by a punter at greville. Someone said someone had a 10k punt on him, that surely can't be enough to make a grown man chase a jockey ?

But it's racs theres always rumours aren't they. but smoke theres usually fire. ANyway it's late and i'mma start rambling.

The punter chasing incident was at the same venue for the same ride.

Personally I saw the race similar to Bob's comment but I now see an inquiry was held and he pleaded guilty.

Striker got a harsher penalty for the same kind of incident.

Having watched replay now I think the mistake he made was not riding vigorously to the line but I agree he was beaten.

Jarred penny has recently been given a 10day fine for not riding his mount out to the line costing it of its 4th position. The board needs to be in line in the way they adminster rules.
