R2 Wincanton Abertillery small E/W. Barring accidents Zubayr should hack up here at around 1/7. The opposition is very weak, but the second and third favourites both have question marks over them (Alphabet Bay is returning from a year off and Pure Vision finished totally tailed off on his hurdling debut only five days ago). The selection showed some ability on the flat for John Gosden and hasn't done too badly in his three runs for Michael Blanshard. He may simply have no aptitude for hurdling, but his flat form makes him clear fourth choice here and if either Alphabet Bay or Pure Vision flops, he is the most likely one to pick up the pieces. Worth a small E/W bet at 80/1 with Stan James.
R2 Wetherby Roxyfet. No idea why Trust Thomas is favourite in what looks a match (the other runner, Free World, is impossible to fancy on recent form). The selection has his ideal conditions and knows how to win, whereas Trust Thomas is a very infrequent winner (often looks a weak finisher too). 13/8 or better for Roxyfet is an excellent price.

Last one for today. R7 Navan Reddot Dancer E/W. This looks a match between Aasheq (4/7) and The Gurkha (7/4) and that's probably how it will pan out, but there are some very big prices about some of the other runners and the selection ran very well on his only start last season in a red hot Curragh maiden (winner went on to score at the Breeders Cup). Should be suited by the step up to a mile and can sneak into the frame here. 25/1 with Betfred is too big (as is 5/2 place only with William Hill).
