Re: 2016 Crabbies Grand National
9 years 2 months agoThe 2016 Crabbies Grand National takes place today at Aintree. With a maximum field of 40 runners chasing a huge prizepool there is sure to be some hardluck stories and thrills and spills.
Last years winner Many Clouds returns today as our early Favourite (8/1) after an impressive win at Kelso last time. Oliver Sherwood charge is a powerful galloper and a safe, sometimes spectacular, jumper and can go well again today .
Keeping it in the Family, Sister in laws Nina Carberry and Katie Walsh both have plumb Grand National rides today.
Nina is a late change on Sir Des Champs (22/1) after Ruby Walsh(Katies Brother) was injured yesterday and Katie rides Ballycasey who is not out of this at a big price(50/1)
How to pick your winner
With the race being hard to predict there are many ways to choose your "fun bet"
Jockey Silks
Names
Form
Lucky Number
Throw a dart
Get a toddler to choose

All horses home safe
Rule The World wins his 1st race over jumps in the National, brought back from 2 broken pelvises, ridden by a 19yo having his 1st ride for a trainer who's just lost his son. Owned by an irish billionaire who's crying his eyes out on TV
Hollywood film

So who said maiden's can't run in features and win as Rule the World maiden win over chase/fences is in the Grand National. Gigginstown has put alot of money in the jumps, they deserve it.

Vics Canvas running third was amazing at 100/1 after the horse almost fell and the jockey managed somehow managed to stay aboard.
