This is the power of responsible social media. no where to hide and pics say a million words in some cases.

i am very disappointed cause i always defend horse racing as people who care for our horses.

Sylvester, the vast majority are and that is why this cannot be swept under the carpet. It needs to be dealt with and whoever is wrong must be punished. The truth on how these horses got into this condition must come out as well as who sold them into this cruelty.

hopefully the truth will come out as this is really shocking and should definitely not be happening to such amazing animals. :(

This is truly shocking but unfortunately i do not believe it is an isolated incident.

What is even more appalling to me are the proposed new regulations and this is why i think it is pathetic; (note that i have not seen them yet, just read the brief proposal, but do not think they will be effective)
1. The NHRA are proposing to hold Owners liable when they themselves cannot/will not oversee or be accountable for the horses well being by instituting changes that makes every buyer responsible by way of signed paperwork.
2. This situation is easily solved by way of legal documents signed by every buyer of a race horse whenever it is sold.
3. It is a no brainer to try and hold the initial owner to account because the very body set up to police the industry does absolutely nothing effectively.
4. Whoever sold these horses into bush racing must be held accountable but will that ever happen???????
5. The reason nothing will happen is because there are no laws in SA for this, the people responsible for the current condition of these horses may get a fine once there has been an investigation by the SPCA or SAPS, so one has to ask what is the NHRA really doing?

Did tellytrack on course presenter interview the winners of race 7 FLAMINGO . and if so did they take the chance to raise this in the interest of racing SA.

Sly we need to remember that the Nhra dealt with this matter

Maybe the new regs will stop it happening again

Get Zietsman on here and tell us where these horses went and who purchased them.
Does this mean a few ex Mike De Kock runners will end up the same way? He likes to tell the world how lucky the yard is with MDKs cast offs, show some bulls and tell the world who had these extremely abused animals.

These "horsemen" may have bush racing roots and that's all good and well. But goes to show what they actually think about the horses. Any man can stand on camera and shout about where he bought a horse, now tell us who you sold it to!
