Two I fancy :-

R1) Odd Rob (8/10), despite the price being short, this horse has never cracked a decent draw but has still managed to be competitive. Shouldn't have problems with the distance nor the going, if anything, should really appreciate the 1800m. Hard seeing this one being beaten.

R3) Spider Flower (28/10), going to take on the favourite, Captured Quality (2/1) for two reasons. Firstly has raced over the distance and finished a close up, and secondly, has a decent draw and tends to race handy, so I'm hoping he can get there for nothing. The favourite, guess the stable believe she will get the distance without too much fuss, but I'm not going to back her to find out.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

For me, although Odd Rob rates the one to beat, he is too short at 8/10. Seven Single had a pipe opener this week and appeal to me at the odds

Not sure what you are trying to say Captured Quality and the distance, she ran over the trip last week - but I'm with you in that I prefer Spider Flower

In the 2nd I backed Amsterdam at 11/2 and I think that's good value; less than a length behind French Navy in soft condition at level weights and last run can be ignored when taken out when the Tarry horse fell

Enjoy B)

At the expense of being "unreasonable".......................we have a few horses still prepping ........will they be fit enough or ridden hard enough to run to,or near their ratings?
When tackling a race and you have to factor that in, it is not much different to trying to factor in which runners may not be trying (what's the difference?) - if prepping and needing the run are within the rules now, that just becomes code for legitimate "non-trier".
In the "good old days" that was treated harshly by the Jockey Club...............maybe that is why they were "the good old days"............lol :woohoo:

Apologies all, I must have been having a balding moment and convinced myself that race 3 was to be run over 1400m, like you, I will stick with Spider Flower.

The soft going wont help either

At least that's a "natural" factor!
