ouch! First time the horse failed to give of his best, probably find out there was a reason but he did have an interrupted prep.
Bummer that he cost you but I agree he will probably be well suited to the JHB sprint
edit: watched replay.Checked badly had nowhere to go after that.

Hard to be sure why, without the head on,but Striker checked him quite severely early on while trying to get position .....................never in the race after that!

Thanks Sly. From u, a compliment !
No excuses for losses, when these occurred.
But what a special horse who makes my job easy, he doesnt need me, just a fair chance come prep and race time. ..
One day when I write his story, especially the strange happenings in CT and the strange events ( again) before the final prep for the Comp Sprint...It will be very very interesting....And farking controversial, if not mind blowing. ...
Oh, by the way...we now have more than 60 CCTV cameras in our yard, recording 24/7 and also monitored off site - something we specialise in, but NEVER thought necessary in the yard....
And "the virus" seems gone....coincidentally since the new cams were installed....
This is a very very special horse !
A privelege and humbling experience to be called his Trainer.

8 years 11 months agoPirates I think it's time to replace your broken record. Clairwood is gone, no matter how much you whinge it's not coming back.pirates wrote: well done lg if the mercury sprint was held at its former track he would be an absolute aimer but here s hoping for a good draw for him at greyville
