I, for one, have given up on betting on the horses...too many variables and odds seemed stacked against punter...yes, the thrill of watching a race and picking the winner may be unsurpassed but those moments are few and (very) far between...great for those guys that regularly and consistently do well with the horses but it cannot be fun for those that are in the red and the "loaded dice" of variables means that there are far more losing than winning with those with (access to / privy to) more information taking money from those that are not as privileged...
So, I will stick to what I feel I am doing better at and leave it those who are more knowledgeable to excel at horse-racing betting...
Enjoy...and success to fellow Clanners...

race 5 - Cloud Runner, placed every c&d run, gets the services of of Fortune, jumps from a good draw and holds some of the other favs through Pena Palace at the weights. 9/2, my best e/w
race 6 - Will follow rock country again, will prefer the longer trip and that run behind nebula stands out. 28/10, my best bet
race 7 - First answer never unplaced in 9 runs this c&d and jumps from a decent draw. Can't get hurt at 6/1 a place, best roughie

Said before Xmas that Bingo was a place to avoid for at least a month and it would seem that many clanners have subsequently agreed! Having had a look at today's card my opinion hasn't changed and may well be another month is needed.
No surprise to see a lesser "fancied" Smit runner win the first.
Had a small nutter bet on Waterways in the 4th. Last two incredibly poor but not striding out in penultimate and if lto was just a "glitch" then the 50/1 is worth a small e/w pop imo on prior form. Won't hurt anyway. Happy Days is from the same stable and his run in the first was a huge improvement on recent outings which could be a good sign, though that may be just because being drawn high is advantageous over sprints today, will watch the second to see if high goes best again.

Was injured 4 runs back, would've loved to know the horse had been running injured its last 3 starts and that the trainer was confident of a place at least :silly:

Those in the know made money off those who didn't know...with such incomplete information, a punter is about as prepared as an arm-less person being asked to participate in hand to hand combat...
