Special venue at JULY for RA members

The RA has secured a special venue for its members, refer to the RA site.

Gold Circle has a members only area for normal racedays. If has just recently been refurbished and looks smart, yet attendance at normal meetings is usually very low. GC members were required to pay R1140 - R2800 for membership, and we have just been informed that come July Day, this venue will not be for members, but we can par R1500 or so for a three course meal.
We are the same people that keep this venue going for the other 364 days in the year, yet aren't looked after on the Big Day. Apparently the old Owners and Trainers is being made available, but the venue will not accommodate enough GC members.

Morning, have read the various articles this morning and the bottom line is that I was looking at options to attend the July, but also agree R1,600 was totally OTT, and I felt that R250 instead of the R100 at the Gomma/Gomma was a bit heavy but acceptable, but "R1,600" with no drinks!! [with drinks, would work out a bonus].
It just gives you an indication between the supply and demand the July/Natal and us up North!

Wonder if GC can explain how they get to R1600 pp cost.

Sorry forgot it includes plane ticket and hotel accommodation.

Its true Wise, Nationwide are doing the flights and the Village People are doing the accommodation at the YMCA.

and the catering is courtesy of the hyatt hotel, rosebank who do a very nice veal and royco cup a soup combo.

can't get through to the R.A. perhaps they are inundated with queries.
does it deffinitely include airfare & accomodation ?.... unable to confirm this myself
