No interest. Really?
9 years 8 months ago
I feel I must mention this issue as studio presenters raise it in passing all too often as if it were gospel;
We'll be progressing through the typical afternoon/evening programme when the presenter will suddenly claim : 'Not too much interest in this race......etc.,' and waffle on about the joys of Soccer Six or some other topic.
Clearly he is getting his information from the Tote turnovers to which they seem to be enslaved. (His master's voice?) Indeed - these turnovers are often muted. But perhaps he might like to look at some of the other betting options where an altogether different picture emerges and, for example, 'win' turnovers on a single race can often exceed the total pools on all the tote offerings by a large margin.
So to claim 'no interest' is simply to demonstrate a remarkable ignorance as to what punters are doing & where they are betting (and, as a consequence, wanting to see!).
The only presenter who seems to have any 'feel' for punter needs & preferences is Shaheen. He regularly cajoles his producer and staff for information and content they would not necessarily provide voluntarily. He also almost never, unlike the insufferably verbose Cecil, carries on waffling when a race is underway.
The simple reality is this - we watch Tellytrack to see the LIVE racing that we are betting on. In fact - I would be quite happy with a service offering the live race only + commentary and absolutely nothing else.
I am sure many may enjoy some of the other padding which makes up the average broadcast but, to be frank, it's more likely to put you in the poor house than make you any money.

too much going on, few years ago when the UK channels 1st started to show off the card racing etc they would just show a graphic with
"17 mtp at wonga wonga" with some back ground tunes and canter downs etc them cross for commentary at the off..
Now they have infuriating nobody's putting you off by talking shite about stuff that tbh they have done no home work on ... Ring a bell?

they screwed up yesterdays racing for me...lost interest...because of all the bouncing around...and then no coverage for the local race bar the running...
I couldn't give two ships about the size of the P6 pool in the Outer Hebrides/Mongolia...

I am glad we get all the racing apart from chariots and Ngong
I must admit I have been screaming for fixed odds to be brought back for ages but how many blind people watch tellytrack? Do you have to go through the betting verbally and make mistakes between drifting and shorting especially if there has been a scratching.
Yes far too much waffle it's like reading ABC !

Without the waffle there would be very little to read on ABC. Waffle makes the site great to read and too contribute, even though I have ruffled some feathers, its part of the daily entertainment for me. Without a laugh and a wind up we all might as well give up on life and dig ourselves a hole and get someone to cover it.
