American Paroah not retiring after all

so he`ll get beat twice before he retires
USA: The mouthwatering clash between Gleneagles and American Pharoah in the Breeders' Cup Classic inched closer on Thursday when the US Triple Crown winner's owner Ahmed Zayat confirmed his star three-year-old would not be retiring after his shock defeat in Saratoga's Travers Stakes on Saturday.
Trained by Bob Baffert, American Pharoah became the first horse since 1978 to win the US Triple Crown when he landed the Belmont Stakes in June, but his eight-race winning streak ended when he went down to Keen Ice at the weekend.
Zayat indicated immediately after the race his gut feeling was to retire the homebred, but he was on Thursday eyeing the Classic, which connections of dual-Classic winner Gleneagles are also considering.
"I am very confident in my decision," Zayat said in a statement to ESPN and the Daily Racing Form."Not a moment has gone by since the race on Saturday when I have not thought about this decision.
"I believe there were a combination of factors that prevented American Pharoah from running his absolute best on Saturday.
"I have every confidence that he can run to his best again, and he deserves the chance to do so."
American Pharoah, who could have a prep race before heading to Keeneland on October 31, is 5-2 favourite for the Classic, while Gleneagles is 12-1 with Betfred and William Hill.

The circus is on the road and the poor horse who has done so much in winning the Triple Crown is now expected to carry on satisfying the greed of a hungary nation.
Surely a well-deserved break has been earned for the loyal home-bred from his owner?
Or is the owner merely having a once in a lifetime rollercoaster ride and enjoying the moments of exhilaration and jubilation?

The Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont is a likely prep race.

He is an awesome specimen.hope he retires on a high.racing needs a' great one 'at the moment.looking at the world economy and all the doom and gloom this horse could be the modern day Sea Biscuit.I mean both horses showing up during tough times. He could symbolize hope for many.sounds a bit Hollywood but what the hell
