The Flamingo Park Festival racemeeting has been moved from August 1 to
Saturday August 8, due to the clash with the postponed Super Saturday
meeting at Greyville, a big day which will now take place on August 1.
The Scottsville meeting scheduled for Sunday August 9 will move a day
forward to August 8 and will run alongside the Flamingo Festival , whilst
the Turffontein meeting scheduled for August 8 will now be on August 9.
The reason for the swap is because the same group of stipendiary stewards
and other officials are used for both the Turffontein and Kimberley
centres, while there would also be a clash of interests for jockeys and
trainers.
