BIGGER and BETTER viewing coming soon

Racing. It’s a Rush Press Release
Bigger and Better Viewing Coming Soon
23 July 2015

The raceday experiences at both Turffontein and Fairview racecourses will be enhanced by giant infield TV screens which will enable patrons to watch races from the rail or the grandstand and still experience the thrill of seeing the horses thundering down the straight.

Furthermore, they will enable quick and easy browsing over Tote results and dividends of the previous race, exotic bet pool sizes and approximate payouts on the race to come.

The massive Turffontein screen, similar to the magnificent big screen at Greyville racecourse in Durban, will replace the current infield Tote board, so it will be in the perfect position for all on course patrons.

It will be a full LED TV measuring 11.52 meters by 11.52 meters, which is the equivalent of a 132 Sq TV, so looking at it from the rail, the top of the grandstand, or from the venue and boxes, will be the equivalent of watching TV from your own lounge.

The current Turffontein Tote Board will not be in use for the next six weeks, while engineers install the new giant screen.

At Fairview an infield board of 4.8m x 8.64m, the equivalent of 41.47 sq TV, will be erected soon. Apart from the smaller size it will have the same specifications as the Turffontein screen.

Oncourse patrons are advised to make use of the plasma screens placed over the various courses for reference to results and dividends and other info, the commentators and presenters will continue to keep raceday visitors up to date with the latest information.

They should get some new cameras first.

Why spend more and more money at venues that less and less people go to?
Isn't it time the industry took guidance from what the supporters are saying!

I fail to understand how this ties in with Racing. It's a Rush?

Agree with you Rob Faux, looks a complete waste of money to me.

Surely anything that improves the race day experience is a good thing?

Agreed - there are more important things the money can go towards.

Greyville is lucky to get 100 people on course for a raceday.

The big screen is nice but fk all good if it's all blurry stretched on the big screen.

How the f haven't they got high quality HD cameras yet. Probably get better quality recording races on an iphone.
