I'm of the opinion if Penstock likes the sand it wins race 1
Have noticed Hollywood have been keeping Dublin Rebel on their side, so maybe they have a few bets rolling up ?

I was a small part of the syndicate that imported Camden Park and a criticism from the industry,at the time, was that he was by AP INDY ,one of the most successful and highest rated Sires of DIRT horses in the USA,and the belief was that his progeny would be more suited to dirt.(albeit not necessarily our kitty litter)
No wonder Jay Pegs progeny does well on sand.

Be careful .............as Englander points out the Dam's progeny have failed on sand ,so it is a bit of Ja/Nee right now!

As is my experience so far...my 'research' has shown that when it comes to acting on sand...the Sire is the 'main' ingredient' lol

Just to clarify a little. Much of what I know about those taking to the sand etc is all thanks to Heinrich. I base 95% of my thoughts around the sire. In this case though, there were two siblings by Captain Al, who is a recognised sand sire, and neither seemed to go well on the sand. That is definitely not to say that by a different sire others wouldn't act well but it does not go down as a positive in my book.
Bob seems to have summed it up nicely after the event lol
Still doesn't account for the turnaround in form with winner and the other two though lol :S
