R3 Ayr Gassin Golf E/W. Very consistent hurdler who has run well in several big handicaps without winning. Finally got off the mark when winning easily at Newbury last time and that should have done a lot for his confidence. Can go well here at an attractive 12/1.
R4 Ayr Duke of Navan. Classy hurdler who has shown promise in his few runs over fences and is capable of better still. Today's trip and ground will be perfect and should run well here in a weakish race for the grade. 7/2 a good price.
R5 Ayr Houblon Des Obeaux E/W. High class chaser who looks as if this extreme distance will suit him. Not badly handicapped on some of his recent form and can figure here at an appealing 25/1 (look for a bookie paying five places).

Mick Channon had a bucketful of entries today which have been whittled to few.
Beaten a neck in 1st @ Nby.
Further entries here in R7 & R8 but I think of more interest @ Thirsk.
Heavy support for ELIDOR @ 3/1 R5 and KING CRIMSON @ 14/1 or 17/2 without the 1st & 2nd Favs R6 ..... I just think this could possibly make all.
