THE return of racing to Yarmouth is expected to be delayed for a month, with the loss of four fixtures.

Arena Racing Company is expected to announce the delay, having originally anticipated racing would return from a nine-month absence on June 26.

The delay will take the total fixtures lost to 11, as the course has been closed since last September for track repair work.

The home straight is being levelled as it had developed ridges and was the subject of complaints from jockeys and trainers.

The remedial work involved removing topsoil, regrading the subsoil to a level base and putting back the topsoil ready for the seeding in January, but that phase had to be postponed after a wet end to 2014 produced double the amount of rain of the previous year.

 Bob are you sure that no one can blame Gold Circle, Gold Circle directors, lack of satellite yards, useless Natal trainers, the polytrack or anything else to do with Natal racing for this delay? ;)
