Stan Elley also commented on the split today...and further added that Yogas is to set up his own yard in KZN..AS FOR Plattner she should get some advice on how to perpetuate her earlier successes and how to mate her better mares or she will end up with less than mediocre stock to send to the track.....I predict a major cull in what she has and may scale down her breeding and racing interests....

It will be interesting to see how the next trainer does with the same horses. Yogas has won Group 1's for the yard when the quality of horses was good enough. He just does not have that quality and as I have said on many occasions, without horses with Group race ability, not even a brilliant trainer like MDK can make them win those races. Yogas has done well with the class of horse he has at the moment. I hear there were people that thought they knew more than him that were putting the boot in for him. One of the nicest guys in racing. :(

Hi Craig believe me when I say this is that you are in the same bracket as MDK and all the other so called top trainers. They have the stock to make them look great and you don't. If you had the owners that can put the money down you will also be in there bracket. My trainer Calamity James is also like you small owners but has a good strike rate. With out you guys the racing industry will be a bag of sh1t because it is people like you and I that makes it happen not the big owners and so called top trainers. Give one of these so called top trainers a cheapy they would not know what to do with it. How long will it take a R2,000.000.00 gelding that is a sprinter to a mile back. The cheapies two wins and Bobs your uncle. YOU GUYS ARE JUST AS GOOD OR EVEN BETTER. COME ON YOU SPURS.

....too old, too tired to make a difference.. ;) ...however taking her top mares to at first... her own stallion/s and where she had major shares did not work.....neither did taking them to the top stallions as there was very little chance of the ideal genetic match.....

When one breeds for sales then this is the "commercial " option and you have some misinformed shmucks throwing big money at top stallion and well performed race mare combo....breeder has nothing to loose.....however keeping them to race and go back into the breeding pool ....one has to steer away from these incongruent matings with the top stallions.... and instead bite the bullet using less fashionable sires that have genetics to bring out the better attributes in these fantastic race mares..... :P
