Kept looking over his shoulder like a panicked apprentice and the horse certainly didn't get a vigorous ride.
I'm sure Titch can illuminate us on the extenuating circumstances.

Ruffian , I just think Andrew had the race won, thought he had done enough ?
Sure he is gutted with the ride?

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: (CvA)
a) When questioned regarding his ride in the latter stages, Jockey A Fortune (NATATELA) explained that NATATELA was responding well to his riding without the use of the crop and that in his opinion it was not necessary to use the crop behind the saddle on this filly. Jockey Fortune was advised that he needs to ride his mounts with sufficient vigour so as to leave the Stewards with no room for query.

10 years 4 months agoI was on the winner in this race and I too thought the looking behind was utter balls. Almost seemed to me like he was waiting for the winner to get up. That was my opinion.ruffian wrote: I suppose you are right Bob. We all make mistakes.

Remember Andy very rarely rides his mount vigourously. I doubt he could plan da whole race knowing richard fourie will come with a late run to beat him a nostril...come on guys

The last time Andrew never rode for a year ,it was the similar ride and the same jockey that came and beat him on the post,it just must mean that Richard is way better judge and jockey,or,Andrew just getting long in the tooth.
