But Rob has a good point. Will Phumelela ban any bookmakers who lay the open bet at their establishments from trading on Interbet ?

Well, it is interesting that having read this thread I logged on to Interbet only to see adverts for betting now available for the J&B Met and the Australian Open despite both events having been long completed.

Looks like a marriage made in heaven. :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

The trick might be to apply to extend the tote licence to include fixed-odds bets(AKA bet exchange but not as controversial) open Interbet to public, including laying ,and only allow bookmakers who refuse the open bet to use the platform.
Most bookmakers would eventually need to participate once the idea gathers momentum with the public, I would think.
