It must be like watching an english movie dubbed into chinese

I've punting for 30 years and have trouble understanding the terminology and bet structures they rave about

Maybe if I understood I'd bet on the tote ?

I saw the LQP website talk about the " show " bet ( now that confused me as I thought only the yanks play this bet ? )

I have no idea what that bet is - not applicable to SA racing

The floating/roving banker MUST finish in the first two(for exacta), three for trifecta and four for quarter.
So to day i like Sensuous Sally for the exacta - I float her with the field - This means she must finish first or second and any other of my selections(field in my case ) must finish in the first two. I have had a fair bit of sucess when I still punted every day on floating two horses(both have to finish in the first 4) with the field in quartets. ) I remember at one of the last meetings at Bloem picking up 9k for R300 rand or so when I floated a Botes horse and another with the field. I picked up a small % of a 100k + quartet. I also remember once in Dubai collecting an exacta 5 times that paid R800 by floating with the field. Obviously you must pick your races to float in

I'm really unsure of across the board and show bets - Perhaps they are a Cape thing? Or maybe taken from a USA site?

Hello ,Floating banker(s) example - If you like no's 6 and 8 to finish in the first three...You may take a trifecta floating bankers 6 and 8 with the field. If that be the case, 6 and 8 MUST finish in the first three, even if they run 2nd and 3rd or 1st and 2nd or 1st and 3rd for you to catch. Floating banker(s) or as some term it "roving banker(s)".
