We should have more, not sure if we have anybody trying to encourage or promote it ?
It is a dangerous game so maybe not a good idea for a young lass.

I think the academy must weigh up the choices very seriously when they receive an application from a young girl when they compare against a boy. History has shown us that very few girls last the journey and most are finished the second they lose their claim. Off the top of my head I can not think of a successful woman who has done her time and become a middle of the table jock never mind a top jockette. The best was Lisa Prestwood but she did her time in Australia I think. I have nothing against females looking to become jocks but I reckon physically they are on the back foot when compared to their male counterparts

There is 1 female appie riding work at the moment. Lovely hands on a horse, nice girl but will she be strong enough when she comes upsides Anton in a finish even in 5/8 years time.

In the UK there are a few lady jockeys that can hold their own, Hayley Turner being the best of the lot. In America, Rosie Napravnik, has won the Kentucky Oaks and a Breeders Cup Race and shes just 26 years old. Off the topic but Danica Patrick is a famous NASCAR lady driver. You need to be given a chance to see if you can succeed.

If Justine King has only had 3 rides in last 2 weeks - you gotta feel sorry for her. You can't make a decent living like this - all those early morning workouts for what ? just not worth it. Hope u get a lot more chances Justine, otherwise think of something else to do.

By the way a few male jocks around with similar stats !

Me thinks Megan Carberry is the one to follow. Great strike rate and as strong as any of the lads in a finish. Get on all her rides . Yeeeeeha! !!
I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy !!!!!!!

its a real pity that lady jocks cant do well here as they seem to be given chances in almost every other racing land...its not all about the last 100m of a race
