As announced today live on Channel 4 Racing from Ascot Racecourse on QIPCO British Champion’s Day - the love story between Frankel and Sir Henry Cecil has been commissioned as a major new feature documentary that will broadcast in the build up to Channel 4’s 2015 Royal Ascot schedule.

Produced by Oxford Scientific Films, creators of the award-winning How To Win The National, the documentary will filmed over the coming year to reflect the back-from-the-brink story of Sir Henry’s training career and Frankel – the world’s highest rated racehorse and unbeaten winner of 14 races.

I would like to thank Juddmonte for their cooperation on this project. - the enviable accessibility will ensure that this documentary will be must-see-television.”

Teddy Grimthorpe, Juddmonte’s Racing Manager, adds, “Frankel’s sublime racing career and his blossoming stud career will be the subject of an exciting insight. This will give his legion of fans something to savour.”

Oxford Scientific Films has appointed Chris Durlacher as director of the programme with executive producers’ Jeremy Bradshaw and Alice Keens Soper. Currently the commission is untitled with the working title of ‘‘Frankel and Henry Cecil: The Story of the World’s Greatest Racehorse.’
