CASTING FOR "LEGENDS OF THE TURF"

Neighmaster wrote: Principal casting for the initial 18 parts of the TV series, "Legends Of The Turf" has just about been completed, but we are still searching for look-alikes for a few key characters.

These include owner Norman Ferguson (In Full Flight episode), trainer "Cookie" Amos (in his mid-40's) for the Renounce episode, and trainer "Buller" Benton (who has to age from his 20's to his mid 40's), and who may need to be played by two actors/doubles in the Bold Tropic episode.

Filming of the more than 80 scenes to be captured, to augment the storyline, will commence on 10th November and most scenes will be shot in and around Johannesburg, for budgetary reasons. We are going to be needing a number of extras for shots in various parade rings and on racecourses. We would like to hear from you urgently if you would like to participate as an extra or if you fit the description of the characters still to be cast.

There are also several scenes to be filmed in the infamous Monaco Club, where the plot to nobble Sea Cottage was hatched by bookmaker Sonny Chislett, and his co-conspirators, Monty Labuschagne and hitman, Johnny Nel. Trainer Clinto Binda is a dead ringer for Sonny Chislett and has sportingly agreed to play the villain of the piece in theSea Cottage episodes. A club in Krugersdorp is likely to double as the Monaco Club.
