What's the formula to calculate a double? Take a 7/1 and 5/2 shots. What would the odds be? How do you calculate it?

7/1 and 5/2 would give you 24/1,not quite sure how its calculated i just happen to have a doubles chart with me

7/1 add 1 = 8
5/2 add 1 = 3.5
multiply 8 * 3.5 = 28
subtract 1 = 27/1

lets say 2/1, 2/1 and 2/1

is 3x3x3= 27-1 = 26/1 and ask for a stretch 30/1 from the bookie!
