FRIDAY, 01 AUGUST 2014:
RACE 4 [TF1023]
The Inquiry into the riding of DOUBLE HOCK in Race 4 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 01 August 2014 was concluded on Tuesday, 02 September 2014. App P Dellorto, the rider of DOUBLE HOCK, in the presence of his Master, Trainer S Chua, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) in that he failed to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards in that between the 300m and approaching the 200m, he failed to improve his position to the outside of BARGAIN BID (T O’Shea) when there was an opportunity to do so.
When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea and the nature of the charge. App Dellorto was suspended from riding in races for a period of two months with immediate effect from Tuesday, 02 September 2014 to Saturday, 01 November 2014 both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

I often wonder if our stipes can read a race so it's not likely to happen here ,anytime soon.
How often do we see horses baulked, after an unlikely option was chosen..............never a word!

The only time 3 apprentices got suspended was for having a night out on the town and getting pissed. They got 3 months. The other "riding crooks" get nothing. Must have been the harshest penalty ever. They don't give much more for a positive coke test.
