Scratchings of runners

I think it is problematic.
For example:
Yesterday in race 3 Turffontein, they scratched no 8 Intan Dokazi 5 minutes or so before the race.
I don't support too many races because most of them are badly structured races.
What really bothers me is that when they scratch it, they pay back only 66% of my money.
Is this a new rule or what?
In the previous few weeks (not a lot), they scratched even favorites a few minutes before a race started.
I want to stay positive, in an already difficult game, but now I first want to throw my teddy bear out of my pram.
Please discuss

When a runner in a race is scratched in a race a few minutes before they run.
I played R60 on a bet which include no 8 of Race 3 at Turffontein (Say 20 minutes before the off.
Then they scratch no 8
Then they pay back R40 of the R60.
Why do they pay back only 66%?
Hope this is stated more clearly (Return funds).

I don't understand you. If I play 100 e/way on the tote and the horse is scratched I get a full R 200 refunded. Why should u get less ? Are you talking about a bookies bet or tote bet ? quartets ? Swingers doubkes ? What type of bet are you doing ?

I now can see why you're confused.
6 horses boxed quart. = 360
5 horses boxed quart = 120
Now they only give u back 240 right ? 66.6 % according to u. Don't forget even with 1 scratching u still have a quartet bet running. You now have 5 horses boxed instead of 6.
If this is not a winning quartet ticket u will be refunded 240.0 only. If it is a winning ticket u get 240 plus the winning quartet ticket.
Crystal clear now ? Hope so

Give everything but up!

Exactly that. What does this deduction entails?

If you place a win or place bet with Bookies, they deduct a percentage of your stake,
The % depends on the odds of the horse scratched
A Trifecta or Quartet you get a refund

You took an exotic bet not a win/place bet so they refund the scratching the rest of the bet stands.DONT always blame the operators,if you are a race goer than this should be common knowledge.
