Ever admit they have heard of bent races?

Or there is a problem with racing

Or they are too scared to speak out about problems in racing?

One of the sporting posts questions they ask in their profiles is " is racing straight" or similar words

But nae one says no, you get 1 or 2 say "when there is money involved " etc

But I've never read a trainer or jock , presenter admit they have known of bent racing

Why?

People are too afraid to say so as the repercussions will be too great if indeed there are races that have been "organised"

From my own experience. Couple of years ago I was involved in a syndicate with a few other people. We had a box at Clairwood etc. The info that we received from the two trainers that we had horses with, was unbelievable, not only on the syndicate horses but others as well. Was involved for about three years and we all made proper money on this info. Use to punt big in those days and made good money. The syndicate fell apart because of some stupid dispute.
Now that I am not involved in the” inner circle" anymore I punt maybe one or two races a meeting and very small at that.
From my point of view form etc. doesn’t mean so much, it is that info that people deny exists, that determine results.

And it also saved as a lot of money when we were told when odds on fav's will not be trying on the day, or when a stable mate will roll a fav etc.

The other day on Winning Ways the judge from Gold Circle stated that he has had approaches all his career ..................and his comment was "where there is money....................."
That is all I have ever said - where there is money ,somebody will be trying to cheat for it,and especially when no criminal charges(or record) is involved.
It is why regulation is essential and ,as in other countries, followed up by criminal charges.

We seem to have a strategy of "if we never find or disclose any dishonesty ,the public will think there isn't any"(similar to banks)............and by and large it works!

Its very dangerous to make a statement thatracing is bent if u r directly. Involved.
Its like me telling every1 at work that the company is run by corropt managers. I will be fired on the spot.
So me thinks if a jock, trainer, etc has to say something like this, his/her career is done

If a trainer enters a horse underdone etc is that not misrepresentation ?Is there no rule to this respect ? We hear it all the time in post race interviews,so if there is a rule why are they not being implemented

It is a breach of the NHA rules (rule 62.1 ,just in case somebody from the NHA happens to read the threads)

Scenario

if you hear a trainer has two in a race and one is a buzzer and the other not

do you report it to the nhra? or take advantage of it?

because what will the nhra do with out evidence?

If we had exchanges they could look for unusual betting patterns!!!

Rob what is the difference when a horse with no form gets backed in from 25/1 to 5 or 6/1 and wins the race? Isn’t that unusual betting patterns?

There can be many legitimate reasons a horse can improve!
Very few of those win BTW  ............look at " money horses" strike rate in Winning Form!
