Multi Choice Termination Letter- Calamity ahead

Multichoice termination notice
With effect from yesterday, the Tellytrack service comprises local racing only. A separate service, comprising international racing, has been made available free of subscription to Tellytrack’s bookmaker customers who are licensed by Tellytrack to access its intellectual property, for the month of March.
On 27 February we issued a press release informing our customers that Multichoice had given us notice that they would be terminating Tellytrack with effect from 27 March 2014.
We are pleased to inform you that Tellytrack will from 27 March be making two services available to bookmakers, the local service, comprising South African racing, and the international service, comprising international racing.
If you wish to avail yourself of either or both of our services you will be required to enter into a license agreement for the use of the intellectual property concerned. The license fee will be 3% of your over the counter turnover on South African racing and international racing respectively. The license agreement, which is being finalised by our lawyers and will be presented to interested parties as soon as possible, will be terminable at short (30 days) notice by the licensee. To ensure that confidential information is not passed on to Tellytrack or its partners, the monthly billing and collections will be done by a reputable independent third party.
Our two services will be made available to you at our offices in Rivonia. You will therefore be required to enter into an agreement with a licensed service provider of your choice for the delivery thereof by means of an electronic communication service to your betting shop. Irrespective of the final format, in which the service provider conveys our services to your betting shop, we would require an indemnity from all bookmakers who wish to avail themselves of our aforementioned services, against costs or liability for any action taken or penalties imposed on Tellytrack by Icasa.
You are reminded that Phumelela’s offer of a clean feed is still available and, if you wish to pursue this alternative, please contact Phumelela directly.
As 27 March is around the corner, we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible if you wish to make use of either or both of our services.
Yours sincerely
John Stuart

I hear no decoders available even if you wanted to install at home.

This whole saga is better,or worse than JR and Dallas.
Now we have another directive from TT stating that there are two channels. In addition Multichoice are saying something else.
What provision has been made for the guy at home who wants to watch both local and international.
From Monday we were denied any International racing, which culminated in umpteen reruns of PE Racing, plenty of Goodman/Lafferty "Winning Ways"and many repeats of "what's happening in Oz".
Today we wake up to the fact that we don't have to worry about how we are going to watch Cheltenham because the Operators have suddenly kopped that noone is betting.
Suddenly Cheltenham is back on again and we can all enjoy it instead of worrying about obscure Websites who may or may not offer free Overseas racing.
My worry is what is going to happen tomorrow.
If Clairwood goes ahead, where goeth Cheltenham!!!!!
It is like Teenage sex.First date you have encouraging snogging session.so you go to the Chemist and buy the neccesary or lucozade, depending who serves you and on the date she crosses her legs and says no way.

I will be saving myself a whole lot of money cause without tellytrack on DSTV
I won't be punting . I love to watch racing from the comfort of my home.
With no racing channel no need for DSTV SO A DOUBLE SAVING:)-D

Robin Bruss reckons about 50,000 Tellytrack viewers and John Stuart estimated up to 100k viewers.
Even 50k viewers will mean a R50,000,000 viewer investment in decoders just to stay where we were. You have to wonder has anyone thought this through. At first it looked planned, now it looks like a prank gone horribly wrong.
Racing's administrators seem to be scrambling to stay in control of events they started themselves. As usual their last consideration was about their customers. At least Dstv didn't have us sigh indemnity forms to watch TV, wonder what's to worry about?

These figures are fudged they were talking about access to DSTV decoders ie. if any one has a premium bouquet can have access to TT but not actually watch the channel.
Would like to know how they determine the 5000 top customers to receive free decoders though.....sounds like another who knows who scenario....:

would require an indemnity from all bookmakers who wish to avail themselves of our aforementioned services, against costs or liability for any action taken or penalties imposed on Tellytrack by Icasa.
What does this mean? Do they not have a license to broadcast? I have no idea what this means
I wonder if they have followed procedure and have a license to broadcast as this sentence seems to indicate they expect actions and penalties from Icasa or perhaps I'm reading it wrong?
