The one I didn't mention earlier that I give a chance too is Amber Sail and Heather Adamson did say she gave it a big chance earlier. Wasn't a great field but won her maiden in only sand run well and very badly drawn last 2 on turf. Not without hope imo.
If the ground is heavy Golden Orb may be worth an e/w, coughing on c debut over 1200 but might have brought him on and much more suited to this distance and could be the one running on as others stop.
But, as Frodo says, not easy! lol

Nice one E (tu) Couldn't have that one - weak maiden win, slightly out at the weights - but obviously an improving sort

thanks bud (was only my 5th choice in truth but was worth giving a mention to)... times are a little conflicting on the sand of late imo. That maiden time she did though seemed to be a fairly good one but, the reason I didn't like her more was, exactly as you say, the weak looking field that day. Difficult when there are no "going" recordings in any form guides... oh that's right, then don't differentiate for the sand do they

How about a real final nail in the coffin - Terrible Gulch has most of these well held in his last effort on the sand
