In six months time they wont even be sharing a parade ring...chalk and cheese..The Captain will win the Derby and whatever else they put him in...great feat by Brett yet again today but no doubt CA was a winner beaten...
Give everything but up!

I was hoping for big runs for De Kock and Whistle Stop today as I figured Brett would split CA and De Kock in the derby/met. As for Whistle Stop, Mdk never been shy to go the met route with a 3 year old. He was beaten 5l but still very disappointing. I very much doubt whether Tony Millard who will one day train Elusive Gold in Hong Kong and is looking after his interests here will be keen to go for the Met. Just my opinion. So if Brett is bold I think Capt America will just about win it if he opts out of the derby.

yip madji the same was not said last year in fact the 3yo crop was called poor and was proved to be and when gimmethegreenlite jackson and variety club where 3yos they were called very good and proved it by beating the older horses and subsequent results have proved how good that crop was.....brass them at your peril..im looking to back a 3yo to win the july this year anybody want to lay me some 2 to 1 that a 3yo will win it?

I will not necessary brass them, but will treat each race on merit (poor word choice) as I always do. But I really do not know how this MR system works... a 79 rated beating 104's at level weights confuses my pip :S ...

I fancied the two joburg horses so looks like Cape Town in the lead when it comes to the three year olds but we should not forget Dennis Drier and the master I still think he could be the one to spoil the party and they will understand the Jackson factor as helped Brett with his prep in natal.

Hatt has ridden both EG and CA but chose CA, stable seems to have punted CA hence EG was 50/1. We knew before the race that CA is beating all his stable mates at home. Forest indigo, Dekock and Red ray came from wide draws. Whistle Stop was flat on the day. Most of these are decent and still improving. I don't believe the best horse won the race. As for the met I'm siding with an older horse, the extra 400m will prove too much for the young ones.
