PGE Deserves Credit-Finally!
11 years 6 months ago
I never thought I'd say this,as all I have ever posted about this company has been negative in the past, but I think that credit should be given where it is due.
There are obviously many problems that still needing sorting out,but there are a lot of positives happening right now.
Pools are up.Polytacks are finally being put in place. They are trying to sort out the Vaal sand track at last.Jockeys ride at meetings we would never have raced in the past.
A lot more still needs to be done(especially with regards to the NHRA and the way racing is perceived by the public),but the positives are starting to rack up and I think the future is looking a lot brighter.
Congratulations PGE.

Jap,I was thinking about the sand track issue after Louis posted that drainage has reduced to 8-9 hours from 12 hours(But that 3 hours is the standard) and whilst I would also like to acknowledge the upside, what does it say about an industry when we laud the fact that we have improved from 400% worse than the norm to 300% worse than the norm????
I hope they keep it up ,but have a way to go!

Rob,
I agree with what you say.
I just felt that I needed to post that I see some light now, whereas previously I saw none.
I hardly post on here anymore,I have gotten tired of what I was becoming as a result of my frustration with the way things were being done in the industry.I think it's only fair to clap when a clap is deserved, esecially after all my booing.

The latest big PLUS is that after many months of talks the NHRA has agreed to let the RA help in managing bad debt.
Most service providers (trainers, vets, transporters, farriers, etc) know that the procedure to get a person defaulted is very lengthy and means getting a judgement (at a cost) and then applying to NHRA (at a cost) to default which all takes at least 6 months.
Now the RA, through Larry Wainstein , will manage debts and will advise NHRA in a short time whether person should be defaulted. Saving in time and money will be huge as well as being made public .
Another forward move by The RA as bad debt is crippling many people.
