What is a ambiguous horse?

On TT it state for race 7 no 5 is" ambiguous sex"
can any one explain the word means in relation to a horse?
explanation:
Open to more than one interpretation; having a double meaning.
Unclear or inexact because a choice between alternatives has not been made.
Synonyms
equivocal - vague - uncertain - doubtful - obscure
Is this horse a horse, may be a gelding or perhaps a mare?
maybe bisexual, been in racing 40 years never heard of this situation :S

It has been well documented on this site and others in reference to that horse that sex and DNA testing is acurate but the NHRA chose not to adhere to the initial findings......When Tuesdays Child a filly was DNA tested as a foal the results returned that she was a male but no one investigated thinking it was a typo/error.....she won a maiden fillies in CT with the Bass stable.....The present trainer purchased her and when she won under his care her samples tested for abnormal high amounts of testosterone. The trainer was subsequently fined for doping.
The trainer then took on himself to have the horse tested and examined at Onderstepoort where they found that she is indeed of abiguous sex as she has internal testes. The NHRA have to date not publicly apologised to the trainer but have classified her/him/it only to participate in mixed company ie she may not race in a fillies and mares handicap nor graduation plate.
There have been reports of several horses manly in harness racing that have a similar dual sex classification.

?.....what is really ambiguous .......does she/he/it get a sex allowance.......and if I had such a horse I would be very tempted to stimulate the testosterone for the benefit of improving conditioning......after all the NHRA know that they will find testosterone but at what levels can they regard as acceptable.......questions have been asked why was the testosterone not detected when tested after winning in the Bass yard.....and it could be that there may be a hormonal cycle and the levels increase and decrease in cycle.....finding the cyclic pattern would be highly beneficial in placing and racing when these levels are at the highest as elevated testosterone improve stamina......:

.....must commend Romeo Francis for persisting with this horse....no sex allowance and still gives the boys a go.....wonder if she/it has the testosterone in cycle or will the tests show the problem is no/plenty more....:
