Should the Arlington meeting been giving the early morning greenlight?

34 pen reading is probably the highest i have ever seen in PE

1 horse killed
1 badly broken down
and others lame...

you got to feel sorry for the trainers and owners that had horses ready for a run,but sometimes common sense prevails...

whats the thoughts of the clan?

Just spoken to stipe and they know nothing of a horse killed. There was a horse that broke down but it went down badly. Going was heavy but no worse than a lot of UK tracks.

Everyone tried to race today but decision not to carry on was taken in the best interest of the long term...

Assuming your figures are accurate Bob then I am surprised it took a jockey protest for things to be stopped. But it is easy in hindsight and we must remember that a lot of people put pressure on them to race, us included. The track didn't look terrible from what I could see but that is tv and in reality it can be very different. I am sure they went through their usual steps to ascertain if the track was fit and decided it was. We would only be speculating here without first hand knowledge, perhaps the Shams or anyone else who saw the track up close would be much better placed to comment.

Sad to hear of the condition of those horses, let's hope those lame have suffered nothing too serious and improve soon.
