good Neil.Pity about there being just twelve runners though.Lets hope.He has shortened to 576/100 a place if that means anything?

Race 2 how can we oppose a monster on the sand?... PYLON all the way---form has been really franked by uncle tommy’s win on Saturday
Race 3 I am going with stroke one to win...consistency has to rewarded in a not so hot field my pa cover up will be mighty mo
Race 4 Velvet Verona’s sand form is good enough for me to banker in the pa
Race 5 velvet jar enjoyed this distance last time and I will definitely include in my PA with the hard to oppose formation.
Race 6 with 2 appies sitting on numbers 1 and 2, the door has opened for Decameron to stamp his authority on this field...an outsider worthy of inclusion is Commission due who looks like a sneaker with the claimer
Race 7 benbow looks the right one for me over the trip.... my back up was Cape winter but just checked that it is scratched so will take a chance and banker benbow in the PA
Race 8 although Tayba could improve more, I will not take a chance and banker in PA ...I am going to instead treat her as most exposed at the weights and add how high can you fly and Jackie o with the very helpful claimers

Having digested my jottings etc, I still think (somewhat dangerously no doubt) that it looks like a day for the favourites and in many races there seems quite a big void between up to the first four in the market and the rest. There are some interesting contenders though who can be seen as potential value.

Have done some small stake large atcs which have included many of the favs or 2nd favs and going to do a couple of e/w yankees...

R 1 today at VAAL has to be one of the WEAKEST maiden plates in JOBURG this year.

Sad to say that FRODO & I have a " runner " in this weak maiden plate - DIS'LLBETHEDAY. Frodo if he doesn't earn a stake cheque TODAY, he will probably never earn another cheque again.

We are not convinced he is a sand horse - he was slow away last time over 1000 on sand, & u can't give start on sand over the minimum trip. We have to run him on sand in winter, we are waiting for the rains to come to put him over further on the grass, when there is some give in the track.

Hi - work interfering, so I'll keep it short.

Dis'llbetheday, trainer says he will 'run a better race' - but that does not say much - however it is a very weak field, so we live in hope - ridiculously short in the betting though imo

Does not look like anything will pay - so for some value I like Estancia in the 6th - nice draw and should prefer this trip - on to Tayba in the last - only got Genuine Leather to beat - and has the draw, so good enough for me (tu)

Top horse in the first race not going should allow 100% stat for MDK & rider but for burn money time maybe I am going to have a bit e/w on Jonases mount. Since the start of the year he has had 5 rides, 3 of which were for the Marouns - 2 for Grant with a 50/1 winner and 3rd of 7 and 1 for Bradley which won @ 50/1 (which I was on so maybe I have a soft (in the head:S) spot for him) but he certainly doesn't owe me anything so what the heck8-)
