.....the black layer as you call it...... is bitumen or as some call it tar....this is supposed to hold the loose stone substrate bed in place....it is also supposed to be semi permiable to allow water to drain through it....it will actually degrade over time making it more permiable.....the layer on top of this will be the so called "polytrack" which is a mixed substrate of liquid wax, silica "cleaned sand" and plastic scrap "mainly ground flexible PVC cable , Polypropylene yarn, raffia, tape and polyester fibre"........:

When is it due to be ready Bob? and any idea what the future plan for meetings will be... less grass meets or added fixtures? I assume both Arlington and Fairview grass tracks will remain operative or is that not so?

Arlington sold... so one venue to maintain with two tracks.

I think Dorrie mentioned about three months can start galloping some horses.... as for Arlington i dont know the timelines
