I'm very strong on communication, and it seems he is not. I communicated with him twice before without answer, so I won't touch this now. Communication between trainer and owner is of vital importance to me.

My personal experience was that I got screwed by two different trainers. I suggest that if you make contact and have a personal relationship with a trainer that is half your battle won. I have two horses with two different trainers and believe me they are not expensive at all but they can run and even when they FART I get the call. I was going to get a horse from a trainer at Turffontein and was told that if I want to see my horse I would have make an appointment and see the horse only on a Sunday so told to take a pineapple find the ruff side and FARK HIMSELF with it.

?.....always get a 2nd opinion......preferably from a neutral party......say a trainer or a mate a long time owner want you to take a piece of the horse......ask about it from a party not connected to the deal.....::o....I have over the years run into people that were never connected to the game that were handled so badly because they knew nothing......put a bad taste in them trying to enter the game.....and gives racing that unsavory name......:S

In reply to Tony B and the clanners responding to his Ownership 101; I wanted to introduce ourselves, if we can be of any help!

Born out of a passion to promote the sport of horse racing, Imagine Racing markets and manages shared Race Horse ownership. This allows you the opportunity to experience all the thrill and excitement of Race Horse ownership at an affordable cost and without any hassle.

The Imagine Racing team strives to promote horse racing and encourage new ownership by guiding and simplifying the process for new owners and enhancing their ownership and racing experience through inclusive involvement and personal communication and service!”

Basically we handle everything from helping to get you involved in the right horse/horses with the right trainer. We explain everything you need to know (or not, for those who don't want admin hassles),manage all the admin and manage the horse's career as if it were our own (even when we don't have shares in a particular horse).
Most importantly is that we act as owner/trainer liaison and keep you up to date with your horse's progress, wherever that horse may be. We arrange mornings at the track, as well as any race-day arrangements.
We essentially act as racing managers and guide new owners in every aspect.

I attach a link to more detail: www.imagineracing.co.za/our-service/ and please feel free to contact us if we can assist you in anyway.

Guys I have got involved in www.premierracingpartnerships.com here in Singapore and I must sau I have been VERY impressed and Debbie have raved on this forum before about owning a racehorse in Singapore.

Have just got involved in another racehorse in SA with Craig Eudey stable through one of the clanners here and Hibs I would definately be interested in a leg with ABC syndicate.

I can also help in supplying a portal for all trainers to "advertise' what they have available in stock for free on www.logicfinvalue.com no issue,

Owners can just PM me or email me on sean@logicfinvalue.com and I will gladly setup a page for them to "advertise the stock they have in a standard format for all with photo's etc..

This is a sport we all dearly love so let's all contribute to making it better for all (tu)

Interesting that Imagine syndicates do not have a portfolio on their website of the horses bought and raced:( would like to see their track record

Hi Mr Good!

Firstly, you are right to note that! -The website needs a lot of updating and refreshing!

As a young business we have started building very slowly and the main struggle has been marketing and publicity to get new people interested in getting involved in racing, as owners.
Our most successful horse to date has been Stunning Jet and we look forward to retaining her, together with our partners, as a broodmare.
Of the others, there is not much else to comment on just yet, apart from shares in the filly Final Score, who will be back later this year after colic surgery last year.

We have some way to go yet in building our numbers but our core focus is on ensuring that new owners have a good experience and that their expectations are managed. We have heard of too many new entrants to the game who have had a bad experience and have walked away with a very poor view of our sport. A sad day indeed when we really need to grow the sport and improve public perception!

Feel free to contact me directly on catherine@imagineracing.co.za.

Best regards, as always, Catherine Hartley

@Imagine - Just as a matter of interest, what is it that you actually do and what does it cost. If the website needs updating i dont want to go through the hassle of reading info that is not up to date.

I am a new owner and to be honest and being guided by my trainer who i can say is doing a sterling job. I am interested to know what i could be missing, as i believe he has everything covered.

@Richie77 - Basically we promote new ownership and manage everything for the owners, essentially acting as racing managers.
This is not to take away anything from anyone! We simply want to promote ownership to a broader public and help manage the experience if neccessary. If you are receiving sterling service from your trainer, that is fantastic and you really would not need us.
However, many people don't know where to begin, who to approach and how to get involved, which is the gap we fill!

The general information on the site is correct, just our past, current and any available horses are not updated.

Happy Racing!
