When I was a kid we used to leave Cape Town on Boxing Day and travel the country by car to visit family. First stop was Bloem then Pretoria. After the deeds were done we then had our holiday in Durban. We would stay for a week and had stayed in the same dingy hotel in Gillepsie Street. I was allowed to go out on my own and used to go to the Beachfront and watch the go karts. I was too young at the time to be allowed to go on them. I always promised myself that one day I would ride one of them.

Thats a promise to this day that I have never fulfilled.
