I fancy these on Wednesday's card and presently at good odds :-
R1) Kono (9/2) from draw 13/13 to beat Salesman (7/10). His first run in the province was at Scottsville, and there are not too many visiting Cape horses who come to the province and win first time out at Scottsville, especially a seasonal opener. Salesman, i think only the stable know whether he will see out the 1600m, his one and only run was over a 1000m, there has been money for him, opened 9/10.
R2) True Gift (28/10) to beat Adhira (5/2 into 13/10). Adhira wasn't fancied on debut when running over 1400m, 4/1 out to 11/1, so i can only imagine it has made heaps of improvement hence the support, or because of the breeding, they feel he will perform better of the 1600 or further. My personal opinion, MDK appears "light" on good two year olds this season. True Gift on the other hand, had a seasonal debut at Scottsville, my thoughts on that above, that was her second run after the rest and she was fancied, 15/20 sp. Wednesday night, third run after the rest, drawn in pole position, for me, this is the one to beat. Her breeding suggests she should get the distance.
R4) Dame Dubois (4/1) to beat Purrrveyor (7/2 into 5/2) - DD couldn't have been more impressive in her last run, purely on that, i think she can go in again. Seems to enjoy running at Greyville, yet to be out the placing in 4 runs, whereas Purrrveyor has never run at Greyville or under lights and has yet to go beyond 1200m.
