Devon it works both ways but to say that owners that pay the bills dont call the shots :S THAT IS PAYING OWNERS

Without owners you wont have a stable unless you a owner/ trainer

The owner is No1 in racing. The owner doesnt need punters because he himself can bet against another owner. The owner doesnt even need a trainer (theoretically) because he can train himself. Jockeys, trainers, punters, bookies, etc, etc, all scrap for 2nd. Give the owner his due respect then watch racing sort itself out. Hail the owner. (I am not an owner).

This owner has been around for a long time.
Recently G Ennion has produced the best results for him locally.
If this owner had a racing manager like the Joosters, moving horses around wouldnt have been an issue.

The 1-2-3 was achieved on July day.
Mr Crabbia became the 1st owner in SA to fill first three positions in a Grade 1,albeit by different trainers.

As for Master Plan,in my opinion, had a good prep going into Met.
The trainer gave reasons why the horse underperformed.

Couple weeks ago trainers C Laird/AG Laird rolled out a few impressive 1st time winners in his colours.Interesting times ahead.

......with Mr Crabbia's spend in the game he like Jooste should have a racing manager that is a lot more on the ball and with multiple skills...a person that knows about horses, breeding, nutrition etc. and also one that can idendify suitable trainers that are able to provide reliable communication feed back and results......I have nothing agaist "Onions" I think he is a very good trainer with a keen eye for above average horse flesh......(tu)

when one gets into this type of mega ownership of many horses and many different people consulting, advising and offering bloodstock it has got to get very muddling ......and an alternative opinion needs to sort the chaff from the hay to get better results.....8-)

"knows about horses"

what a statement.......fred pays/fred does what he likes its really not that difficult to understand.

The customer is king in any business except for horseracing why is that?

Common sense says if u training for fred dont build your business around him. he can pull his horses at any time. which is is right. His horses should be the cream on top in sense of income. the rest of the yard musts till perform and make money so when he leaves u are not left with your finger up your ass.

why should any owner leave any yard if he produces consistent results?

I'v noticed Crabbia horses running moderately ,then when they go to another yard they start earning stakes . Surely this is a good strategy ! Ivan moore won with 2 of his horses in Kzn which relocated from Pe (nogaal) . Tarry also got a battling maiden from Pe which he got to win in Jhb .

An owner, as a customer, can leave a trainer for any reason or for no reason or doesnt have to give a reason.
