Afternoon.

This afternoon completed and went as follows......

The 1st runner we wanted 2.7, and with being around 2.94 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond under good support, we had a lay at 2.7 max. The lay was nicely beaten after a lovely slow early gallop, and so a good result.......

The 2nd runner we wanted 3.3, and with getting around 3.05 on arrival, we had a lay at around 3.05. The lay came in a nicely beaten 2nd, so a good result.........

The 3rd runner we wanted 1.44, and with being around 1.6 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage, we all had to avoid the race. The runner ran a poor race, and was subsequently beaten, so one that got away in hindsight.........

The 4th runner we wanted 1.5, and with drifting to around 1.62 on arrival and not coming back down to us at any stage, we had to avoid the race. The runner went and won well, so a good leave.......

The 5th runner we wanted 2.32, and with being around 2.3 on arrival and getting slightly shorter, we had a lay at 2.3 max. The lay went and won well, so made us look silly to be honest and the way it goes.............

The 6th runner we wanted 1.6, and with being around 1.63 on arrival and then dropping down to us, we had a lay at the rock bottom of the market and 1.6. The lay looked to be coming 2nd, but the main challenger fell and left the lay to win well, so hard luck, but the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running and so got away with it.........

The 7th runner we wanted 2.8, and with drifting to around 2.84 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.8 max. The lay looked in trouble a few times, but dug deep and got the win, so the way it goes again, but very frustrating. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.........

The 8th runner we wanted 3.5, and with being a well supported 2.44 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.44. The lay looked beat a few times, but dug deep to get a battling win, so yet more frustration, but the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.........

The 9th runner we wanted 1.06, and with being around 1.14 on arrival and not coming down to our lay price at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was actually beaten and so a major shock and one that got away in hndsight.......

The 10th runner we wanted 2.94, and with getting that on arrival, we had a lay at 2.94. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.25 and beyond, so a chance for traders (builders hit and finished) to have a 'free' lay before the race. The lay/trade went and won a 3 way battle for the line, so another favourite goes and wins.........

The 11th and final runner we wanted 2.5, and with being around 2.46 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.46. The lay came in 2nd after a dour battle, so a good result........

WELL PLAYED/BATTLED........(6 from the first 10 (60%) went and won, so very tough to make money, so builders did a fantastic job)

'Rolling' strategists (no 'free' lays for them) had to concede 3 targets............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, then hit their targets on their 2nd lay (the 2nd runner)...............they then started their 2nd strategy/target on the 5th runner, and with having to put up with a long run of winning favourite's they had to concede four targets, giving them an overall 3 target loss on the day, so very frustrating....

Strategy/target players (bank builders) had their 1st lay (the 1st runner) at 2.7 max, and a good result see them win a chunk of their targets.........They then had their 2nd lay (the 2nd runner) at 3.05 max, and a good result see them hit their targets....

Traders had to concede a little on the 5th runner at 2.32 max, but all others see them either win a bit, or break level, so all in all they ended around levels at worst and that's a decent effort with all those winners..

So builders do a fantastic job with hitting early and then sitting back allowing all those winners to go by without harm, so well played guys. Rollers on the other hand had to contend with them and couldn't do nothing about it, and they see their 1 target lead turn into a 3 target loss. That's the way it goes, but very frustrating. Speak in the morning...

That's what we have to work around for this afternoon then. Never easy and this afternoon no exception to that with there looking to be several winners, but we'll box as clever as we can with discipline to the maximum, and taking advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings....
