He definitely did not try and lose the race
Rode to the line tried hard
I remember Karl at Greyville riding a Crawford horse finished 2nd
He forgot to weigh in the horse was scratched
These things happen maybe for the benefit of punters the horse should be scratched

Figi cost me some once on a Ferraris horse at the vaal....

Surely the parallel comparison here is for a trainer to be disqualified for life if a horse is tested positive for P / E drugs??
What one needs to look at is similar offences and the sanctions meeted out then...some sort of precedent.

If the ban is for Negligence then the ban is far too harsh and the Jock should appeal...

I don't know him from a bar of soap but he is a nice kid. He rides well and is up and coming. Clearly the weight fell out or something else happened....He isn't a crook nor is he a cheat.

I think not being allowed to ride for 8-weeks is PLENTY penalty.
