Nocturnal Affair

For those who maybe wonder what happened to this good SA sprinter, I nicked this from yesterday's Dubai Race Night:

"The Tipperary-based conditioner [Ed Marnane] has a win at each of the last two Carnivals, one from Malih Al Basti-owned Dandy Boy and another from former South African sprinter Nocturnal Affair, both of whom return for this year’s Carnival, the third trip for each.

“The ground is almost always wrong for him in Europe,” Marnane said about Nocturnal Affair. “We purposely gave him a break after the Carnival and things never went his way.”

"In five starts last year at the Carnival, the son of UAE Derby winner Victory Moon had a win, a second, and a third and was beaten just 2 ¼ lengths by Ortensia in the Al Quoz Sprint (G1) when sixth.

“There is such a great sprinters’ programme in Dubai and he needs to run consistently. He’ll come on for the first one or two and expect him to run four or five times again, with the Al Quoz the season ending goal.”
